The album ‘Swing & Latin’ is the 6th album in succession of Robo Opatovsky. Work on this album started in August 2005 in an improvised studio in the Home of culture in Pezinok.
The latest album contains Robo’s best known songs (Ocean, Natalia, Sen), jazz standards (Route 66, Night and Day), famous Slovakian songs (Dvaja, Milovanie v dazdi) which were rearranged by outstanding producer and jazz guitar player
Matus Jakabcic into the swing and latin genre.
The album was christened on the 15th June 2006 at Club Monaco in the Hotel Danube. Czech singer Ilona Csakova was the godmother with whom Robo sang the duet of Cole Porter ‘Night and Day’. The album ‘Swing and Latin’ was released in 2006 by

Music guests included singers Josef Laufer, Richard Muller & Ilona Csakova. Of course we can’t forget the top Slovakian instrumental people: Juraj Griglák – contrabass, Juraj Bartoš – trumpet, Miloslav Suchomel – tenor sax,
Radovan Tariška – alt sax, Ľubomír Šrámek – piano, Silvia Michalidesová - flute, Marián Ševčík - drums, František Karnok - trombon, Erik Rothenstein - baryton sax, Klaudio Kováč - piano, Peter Solárik - drums, Eddy Portella - percussions, Peter Preložník - piano and Moses quartet.
Repertoár albumu tvoria Robove najznámejšie skladby (Oceán, Natália, Sen), jazzové štandardy (Route 66, Night and day), známe slovenské skladby (Dvaja, Milovanie v daždi), prearanžované Matúšom Jakabčicom do štýlu swing-latin.
Album sa krstil 15. júna v hoteli Danube v klube Monaco. Krstnou mamou bola česká speváčka Ilona Csáková, s ktorou si Robo naživo zaspieval duet Cole Portera, Night and day. Album Swing and Latin vydalo v roku 2006 vydavateľstvo Záverečná s.r.o.
The rhythm section together with the vocal parts were recorded live and then followed by the chamber string quartet (Moses quartet), which were recorded separately. Robo’s solos and with guests were recorded in the LP studio in Pezinok with the assistance of a recording master, Peter Preloznik.
Peter, as well as other things, is an excellent jazz pianist. His own song ‘Moje smutne cakanie’ is also featured on the ‘Swing & Latin’ album.
